Our farm name is Blue Mountain Farm, the business name of
which was taken over a decade ago. When Soay sheep were obtained,
it was found that the Blue Mountain prefix designation had already been
utilized. Rather than change the existing farm name, the Soay Sheep
have a farm name prefix of
Grande Ronde. Because Blue Mountain Farm is in the Grande Ronde
Valley.
Our flock were carefully chose for their
bloodlines, size and conformation, horns (or lack of) and color.
Striving for bloodline diversity has been a goal; which is one of
the reasons we so many rams we can rotate through.
